The library of Faculty of Medicine Universitas Indonesia (FKUI) is one of the oldest libraries in Universitas Indonesia. As one of the oldest library in Jakarta and Indonesia, Library of FKUI houses collections from 16th, 17th, 18th, as well as 19th century. These collections come from the era while FKUI was still known as Sekolah Dokter Jawa, or Geneeskundige Hoogeschool (GH), or Ika Daigaku. A more recent collection from the 1950s comes from FKUI under the management of Universitas Indonesia. Up till now, some of these old manuscripts can still be readily read.
As the oldest and biggest producing medical faculty in Indonesia, FKUI offers a library that can support education and develop knowledge at its best. In addition to providing medical textbooks, and algorithm for various diseases, the library of FKUI is specially designed to accommodate knowledge exchange between students and staffs.
The Library of FKUI is located at the left veranda of Salemba 6 Lower Ground, next to the basketball field. This two-story library easily accessed by students and staffs, provides medical books, local and international medical journals, and various research publications. This facility is also equipped with an internet connection via FKUI Official Digital Library. This digital library enables students, staffs, and clinicians to access recent medical journals and e-books.
Various books on medicine and health in over 9000 titles are accessible in our library. On top of that, the library also subscribes to several databases that house thousands of journals on medicine and health. Medical e-book from various disciplinary with interactive learning can be accessed on the first floor. All of these features are directed for students to achieve a more dynamic and comprehensive understanding on medical sciences.
With the facilities provided by the library, FMUI graduates are expected to become global competitive medical doctors.
