Akmal Taher – An alumnus of the Faculty of Medicine of Universitas Indonesia 1980

Prof. Dr. dr. Med. Akmal Taher, Sp.U (K) finished his general practitioner education at the Faculty of Medicine of Universitas Indonesia in 1980. After that, he took a specialization in urology at the Faculty of Medicine of Universitas Indonesia and graduated in 1988. He then had a chance to serve as a research fellow at Hannover Medical School and Institute for Peptide Research, Germany (1990-1992) and obtained his doctor of philosophy degree (Ph.D.) in 1993. Prof. Akmal became a professor in 2006. He is a patent holder of Inhibitor of Phosphodiesterase IV in Germany, Canada, and the United States of America.
