FMUI Sign Partnership with PT. Pertamina Bina Medika

FMUI continues to widen their partnerships in order to improve Indonesia’s health status. This partnership with PT. Pertamina Bina Medika is regarding to health, research, and community service. A signing ceremony was held on Monday, 4th January 2019 in Muara Angke Ujung, North Jakarta.

This partnership signing was done by FMUI’s dean, Prof. Dr. dr. Ari Fahrial Syam, SpPD-KGEH, MMB with president director of Pertamedika Indonesia Healthcare Corporation (IHC), Dr. Dany Amrul Ichdan, S.E, M.Sc. This cooperation agreement will be applicable until February 2022.

Also seen in the ceremony, Dr. dr. Andon Hestiantoro, MPH, SpOG(K) as FMUI’s Manager of Partnership, Venture, and Alumni Relations, Dr. dr. Dewi S. Soemarko, MS, SpOK as a Head of Occupational Medicine Master Program, dr. Nuri Purwito Asi, MSc, MKK, SpOK, as a Head of Occupational Medicine Specialty Program, and Dr. dr. Kasyunnil Kamal, MS, SpOK as a teacher in the Department of Community Medicine.

As the oldest faculty of medicine in Indonesia, FMUI is committed to take part in Indonesian’s health development. One of the most developed field of medicine these days is Occupational Medicine. And FMUI is the only medical faculty in Indonesia that has Occupational Medicine program. Therefore, FMUI needs to widen their partnerships with other parties that is related to occupational medicine.

As the first form of partnership, FMUI will send occupational medicine residents to Pertamina Hospital in Balikpapan. Occupational medicine doctors in Balikpapan is very much needed because there are many oil and gas company in Balikpapan. But there is also a chance for other residents from other program to be sent to Pertamedika Hospitals.

Pertamedika is a part Pertamina Hospital groups, since March 22nd 2017 it has been chosen by Ministry of State Owned Enterprises (BUMN to manage BUMN owned hospital in Indonesia. PT Pertamina Bina Medika is a manager of 12 hospital owned by Pertamina. Since then, Pertamedika changed its name to Pertamedika Indonesia Healthcare Corporation (IHC).

This partnership is expected to increase the number of occupational medicine doctors to improve worker’s health and productivity.
