Faculty of Medicine UI Received Personal Protective Equipments from Kangwon National University

The Faculty of Medicine, University of Indonesia (FKUI) received 150 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) from the Kangwon National University (KNU) School of Medicine and Kangwon National University Hospital, South Korea. It consists of safety suit set, mask, google, and faceshields.

The PPE package was handed over by A/P Lee Hee-Jae, Ph.D from the KNU Faculty of Medicine and received by the Vice Dean of FKUI, Dr. Anis Karuniawati, Ph.D, Sp.MK (K) on Tuesday, May 5, 2020 at FKUI Building, Jl. Salemba Raya No. 6, Jakarta Pusat.

Also present at the ceremony, Professor of FKUI Prof. dr. Fransiscus D. Suyatna, PhD, SpFK; Head of the FKUI Pharmacology and Therapeutic Department, Dr. Wawaimuli Arozal, M.Biomed., Pharm.D; Lee Ji-wan from the Peace and Unification Advisory Committee; and Director of the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), Lee Jong-yoon.

A/P Lee Hee-Jae in his remarks hoped that this PPE package is useful for Indonesian medical personnel. “The safety of medical personnel is very important specially in handling of Covid-19 patients. As proof of our support, we provide protective supplies for the safety of medical staff at the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Indonesia.”

Meanwhile, dr. Anis Karuniawati, Ph.D, Sp.MK (K) expressed her gratitude to the KNU Faculty of Medicine and KNU Hospital for their support for FKUI. “On behalf of FKUI, we extend our gratitude for the support that has been given. It, without any doubt, will be very beneficial, especially for FKUI medical personnel who are currently still struggling to handle Covid-19 patients.”

Dean of the Faculty of Medicine KNU, Seong Joon-Cho, M.D, P.hD, through a letter addressed to the Dean of FKUI, Prof. Dr. dr. Ari Fahrial Syam, SpPD-KGEH, MMB, said, “Because of Covid-19, Indonesia is currently going through a difficult time, South Korea is also experiencing a severe ordeal. However, South Korea has passed the peak of the corona virus pandemic and is gradually overcoming it. I heard about the situation in Indonesia through Prof. Lee, Hee Jae from KNU Medical School. Therefore, the KNU Faculty of Medicine and KNU Hospital jointly seek ways to help Indonesian citizens.”
