A lecturer from FMUI won a world swimming championship

Another achievement made by Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Indonesia (FMUI). Right on the Independence day of Indonesia, a lecturer from Dermatology and Venereology FMUI-RSCM, dr. Shannaz Nadia Yusharyahya, SpKK(K), MHA, won a silver medal at a world swimming master championship, The 18th Federation Internationale de Natation (FINA) World Masters Championship 2019, on 5-18 August 2019 in Gwangju, South Korea.

Dr. Nadia managed to present a victory for Indonesia in the 50m female backstroke category of age 60-64 years. Doctor Nadia was ahead of her opponents such as Anthony Vivienne from Australia who finished 3rd and her friend, Nanik Soewadji who finished 4th. Meanwhile, the gold medal was received by Japanese athlete, Oshima Sachiko.

The 18th FINA World Masters Championship 2019 is a world swimming master championship in which there are five categories to be competed; Swimming, Diving, Artistic Swimming, Water Polo, and Open Water Swimming. This event is only for participants who are at least 25 years old.

This year, there were about 5.400 athletes from 82 countries who joined The 18th FINA World Masters Championship 2019.
