It is still a national health problem that stunting issue has not been resolved. When handled with a conventional nutritional support approach without involving various aspects of metabolic disorders that have occurred since conception, the problem of stunting will be a story without end.

Moreover, the effect of unmeet nutrition requirement are complex which includes abnormality in development of child’s mental, cognition, metabolic, as well as long term health issue. Therefore, handling family stunting problem is more recommended than child-only stunting problem.

In connection with those problem, it is time for medical nutrition to enter an era with personalized or specific medical nutrition support strategies. Accordingly, new approaches in medical nutrition support will assist in the management of various diseases, such as obesity and cancer and various causes of inflammation and aging.

Concurrently, Prof. Tjahjono delivered his inauguration speech about the importance of eye ball. Eye ball is an organ which has unique and complicated structure which become the main pathways for us in receiving information. However, the rate of blindness in Indonesia is considered to be high which is 3% among people more than 50% (Rapid Assessment of Avoidable Blindness (RAAB) 2014-2016).

It is undeniable that blindness will decrease the quality of life and economic status of the family. Therefore, in developing countries like Indonesia, it is expected to be able to include non-operative operations to restore productivity of workers as an effort to decrease poverty and promote family welfare

These days, it is important to be together in pursuing innovation in terms of vision recovery, through support and collaboration of Penta Helix (Government, Industry, Society and Social Institutions, High Educations and Media). However, the problem in Indonesia is to catch up with the technology for global best practice and to align with the speed of technological development in the era of global disruption, Industry 4.0.

In the era of disruption, all can utilize technology, such as The UK which is able to make artificial cornea using stem cells and other biological materials with 3D printing.

It has always been a pride for Universitas Indonesia, when its academic community loved their almamater and made many achievements. With the increase in the title of Professor, it is hoped that it can spur the spirit in other UI academics to be excel and be able to raise UI’s big name in the national and international arena.
