Continuing Medical Education (Pendidikan Kedokteran Berkelanjutan or PKB) of Faculty of Medicine Universitas Indonesia has been established since 1965. Earlier, it was the “Komite Pengembangan Riset and Pendidikan” (KPRP). This committee then was called Program Pendidikan Ilmu Kedokteran Berkelanjutan (PPIKB) in 1977. In 1997, it was changed to be Program Pendidikan Kedokteran Berkelanjutan (PPKB) and now become the “Unit Pendidikan Kedokteran Pengembangan Keprofesian Berkelanjutan” or Continuing Medical Education Professional Development Unit (UPK-PKB/CME-PDU).
The activity of PKB FKUI started with Kursus Penyegar dan Penambah Ilmu Kedokteran (KPPIK) in 1968. Following to this event, many courses and workshops were conducted independently or in collaboration with various departments of FKUI. This kind of activities later on has been shifted to departments, sub divisions as well as professional associations. FMUI is back to ignite this CME program as a part of Tridarma Perguruan Tinggi which is dedication to the public.
